It can humbly be said, that the east coast arts community will be coming to together to celebrate on Sunday June 9th at The Voorhees Art Center & Gallery for The Arts & Music Open House!
We have brought together a line up of artists that include those at the start and at the peak of their artistic journey.
We have award winning visual artists!
We have award winning singers!
We have a young drum corp!
We also have a young lady Shawn R. Jones who is a wonderful poet, dancer and story teller.
Shawn will be "opening" The Arts & Music Open House and discussing how life , career and education has shaped her art. Her story will encourage and inspire. So you need to arrive early, perhaps meet her before hand.

Shawn R. Jones is the author of three books, two poetry chapbooks, Womb Rain and A Hole to Breathe, both published by Finishing Line Press, and a daily devotional, Pictures in Glass in Frames. Her poetry chapbook, Womb Rain, is #61 in Finishing Line Presses’ New Women's Voices Series. Her poetry has also appeared in Essence, Challenges for the Delusional, and the River Heron Review’s debut issue. She is currently working on a full collection of poetry. Shawn is also the owner and operator of Tailored Tutoring LLC and Kumbaya Academy, Inc. In May 2019, she graduated from Rutgers-Camden’s graduate school with a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing.
